The days are getting longer. We're getting more light. And on days when I take the train to work, instead of carpooling, I enjoy being able to walk home from the train station and not be doing it in the dark.

However, darkness isn't far off yet, and the Moon ensures that I know it, and that I enjoy the sun while it's up.

My Mexican Black King snake is getting ready to shed, as indicated by the milky eye. She's a gorgeous black, and almost flawless (meaning there is almost no other colour, save for a bit of white on the underside of her head). She is the smallest of the 3, but also the most popular among friends it seems.

All around my apartment building you can see rabbits. This little guy was sitting right beside the path way that leads up to the door. He was under a tree where he seemed to feel quite safe, as I was able to move around him and get relatively close and he barely flinched.

As I worked my way closer, he did start to perk up, and start getting ready to make a run for it. Before he got totally spooked, I backed off, and let him relax and enjoy what was left of the afternoon sun.

Olympic Hockey, and enough pizza to feed a group of 7. Despite the outcome of the hockey game, it was still a great night.

So it's not that great of a picture, but it's the only photo I managed to take today. All day I was just way to busy to even think about grabbing my camera. I did luck in however, that my g/f wanted to see the bruise left behind after being stuck with needles during her hospital stay, and they only way to do that, was to show her on my phone with a quick picture.

She came home from the hospital today! She's still on pain killers, but at least she's home, and healing. Gall bladder removal is done laproscopically through 4 small incisions in the abdomen, and scaring is fairly minimal.

More presents for my g/f from her friends. One of them made an origami menagerie for her, seen here on display with the drinking cups they decided to colour.

My g/f had emergency surgery last night. Now she'll be spending a few days in the hospital recovering. Glad that she's on the mend. Some friends stopped by today, and one decided the whiteboard in her room needed some artwork and well wishes.

Today I had to take my girlfriend to the hospital. It's our third visit in a week. She's finally being admitted for surgery. While waiting to meet with the general surgeon I started getting bored. And when I get bored, I find things to play with. Luckily, at a hospital, there's always something to entertain me. Unfortunately, that usually means I'm going to get into some kind of trouble. My g/f was glad that the gloves they wear now are vinyl, not latex, and therefore a lot harder to use as balloons.

There's no better way to spend a cold day than on the couch. Me and my g/f spent the entire day watching the olympics, nice and cozy right here. We had no reason to leave the apartment. A great way to finish the weekend.

It's getting colder again. The frost is starting to form on the trees behind my apartment and it doesn't take long before my hands get to cold to take a decent picture. My fingers hurt from the bite of the wind and I'm shivering. I'm going back inside!

A short interruption

There have been no updates as of late, as my g/f has been in the hospital. I have been taking my daily pictures, however, and will be posting them soon. Sorry for the delay.

They let me out of the office for a bit today! Our IT guy cleaned out our computer graveyard, and me and the other designer, plus 2 sales reps got to escape for about an hour today to bring the old computers, printers, monitors, keyboards, and other miscellaneous computer parts to the electronics recycling centre. Sometimes, it's nice to get out from behind a monitor.

After a late night on Wednesday, and an otherwise brutal week already gone by, sometimes there's nothing better than sitting at home for the evening, and just relaxing, to let the mind and the body rest a little.

Every boy should have a pet. Growing up, we always had cats and dogs. We had frogs and salamanders. We had rabbits, mice, hamsters, and a ferret. We even had a pet chicken. Now I have snakes. Right now I'm limited to 3, but eventually, I hope to expand that collection, to include a few more exotic snakes. But for now, I'm quite happy with the 3 I have. Even if this one has a tendency strike and bite.

Some days are just to cold to be inspiring. There really is a lot to get photos of, especially with the frost we've had, but first you have to be willing to stand in the cold and set up your shot. Maybe some other day. Not this one.

The Glenbow Museum has an Art of Asia exhibit. I suggest checking it out. It's a great way to spend a few hours on a cold day.

Wal-Mart scares me. I try not to shop there for so many reasons. The fact that they actually have a brand called "Great Value" is just one of those reasons. Unfortunately, every now and then, it just has to be done.

On the first Thursday of every month, the Plaza Theater (Calgary's oldest) shows old cult classic slasher and gore flicks, but they're never the big titles. They're all B, C and D titles, that probably should have never seen the light of day. They bring in the original 35mm film, as well as some old trailers. The theater is small and dingy. There are stains on the ceiling and the seats are torn. The movies are the best of the worst, and me and the guys love every second of it.

Every day I walk into downtown to get to work, and every morning I cross the same bridge. As a designer, I like to think I understand art, at least to some degree. These banners, however, I just don't get. They're on both sides, and all the way along. And they're all ugly. To me, they look like magazine clippings stapled to a burlap sack.

This is the first of my 365 entries. I spend 8hrs a day in an office, designing a magazine. Sometimes I need something to take my mind off the task at hand. That is Primes job.
